Our life is totally dependent on water and we get this water only through rain. So rainfall plays a vital role in our life. Let's call rainfall as our 'income', which we spend at our wish, very little goes in the ground as ground water (Fixed deposit) and mostly all goes back to oceans. A group of volunteers are trying to find how much is this 'income' in their area. They are measuring daily rainfall. This activity has been going on for the last 4 years in Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Bhor, Jejuri and Mangaon. This is their sincere effort to know the most important aspect of our environment.
Procedure: Sandard manual rain gauges are being used. Rainfall is measured at 8:30am everyday for 24 Hr span and centralised record of all data points is maintained. Contact: Abhijit Gandhi (98228-75550) for any feedback
