Description: Mid size tree with smooth gray bark. This species is thought to be a cross between B variegate and B purpurea. This species is sterile and does not bare pods.Simple leaf, alternate-spiral.Palm size bilobed leaf. Width and length almost same.Large size flowers occur in magenta, lavender colour.Sepals are fused, appearing as single large sepal forming a bud. 5 broad petals with slim base, very bright innermost petal. It has 10 stamens, 5 long protruding out and other 5 small and mostly sterile, distinctive feature from B variegata.This species never fruits.Should not be planed in Indian subcontinent.
